Golden Triangle Federal Credit Union was formed in 1953. Since that time the credit union has grown and prospered.
The credit union was formed by the employees of Atlantic Refinery and Pipeline Co. The original name of the credit union was Atlantic-Atreco Federal Credit Union.
The name was changed in 1985, to Golden Triangle Federal Credit Union. At the same time the field of membership was opened to companies outside of FINA.
The credit union has also taken in four local credit unions during the 1980's. U.S. Steel Credit Union, Livingston Credit Union, Port Arthur News Credit Union, and St. Joseph's Federal Credit Union.
The credit union moved into its location on 3700 E. Parkway in 1967. We had been at that location until 1994, when a new 5,000 square foot building was completed at 5211 E. Parkway.
