Simple Ways to Deposit, Transfer, and Receive Money

Before You Begin

To move money into your GTFCU account, you may need the following information:

Please contact GTFCU if you are unsure which account number to use. Some transfers may require a specific checking, savings, or MICR/account number format.

Important: Please do not send account numbers, Social Security numbers, card numbers, passwords, PINs, or other sensitive information by unsecured email or through a general website contact form.


Direct Deposit

Direct deposit is a convenient way to have your paycheck, Social Security, retirement, government benefits, or other recurring payments deposited directly into your GTFCU account.

To set up or switch direct deposit to GTFCU:

  1. Contact your employer, payroll provider, or payment issuer. 

  2. Provide GTFCU’s routing number: 313182602.

  3. Provide your GTFCU account number. 

  4. Choose the account type: Checking or Savings

  5. Confirm the effective date with your employer or payment provider. 

Some employers allow you to update direct deposit through an online payroll portal. Others may require a paper direct deposit form.


Common Direct Deposits You May Want to Move

  • Payroll 

  • Social Security 

  • Pension or retirement payments 

  • VA or government benefits 

  • Tax refunds 

  • Investment or annuity payments 

  • Other recurring deposits


ACH Transfers

ACH transfers are electronic transfers between financial institutions. You may use ACH information to transfer money from another bank or credit union into your GTFCU account, set up electronic deposits, or authorize certain recurring payments.

To send an ACH transfer to your GTFCU account:

  1. Log in to the other financial institution or payment service. 

  2. Add GTFCU as an external account. 

  3. Enter GTFCU’s routing number: 313182602

  4. Enter your GTFCU account number. 

  5. Select the account type: Checking or Savings.

  6. Follow any verification steps required by the other financial institution. 

The other institution may send small test deposits or require additional verification before transfers are available.

ACH transfers may take one or more business days to complete, depending on the sending institution and processing timeframes.


Incoming Wire Transfers

Wire transfers can be used to send funds from another financial institution to your GTFCU account.

To receive an incoming wire to your GTFCU account, provide the sending financial institution with the following instructions:

Important Wire Transfer Reminder

Wire transfers are often final once sent. Before initiating a wire, carefully verify:

  • Receiving financial institution 

  • ABA or routing number 

  • Credit-to information 

  • Final credit name 

  • Final credit account number 

  • Dollar amount 

  • Any deadlines or fees 

GTFCU is not responsible for delays or errors caused by incorrect or incomplete information provided to the sending institution.
